In some of our previous articles we have discussed how Google is enhancing its resources through the use of artificial intelligence.
User behavior is increasingly complex and, consequently, Google also evolves and adapts to these dynamic changes.
The latest major innovation is “AI Max“, which is a series of features designed to improve the performance of advertising campaigns on the search network!

How does AI Max work in search network campaigns
By activating this option during the creation of a Search campaign on Google Ads, Google’s artificial intelligence automatically manages key elements such as keywords, audience segments, ad texts, and bidding strategies, aiming to maximize performance based on the set objectives. The AI uses website content, behavioral signals, and historical data to generate and optimize ads in real-time, minimizing the need for manual interventions.
When will AI Max be available on Google Ads?
AI Max will be available to all advertisers globally in beta version starting at the end of May.
The initial tests (conducted by major brands) have generated excellent results:
- An increase of up to 14% in conversions with a similar acquisition cost. Moreover, those who exploited exact and phrase match, the increase reached even 27%;
- MyConnect managed to increase leads by 16% while simultaneously reducing the cost per action by 1.3%;
- L’Oréal recorded conversion rates 2 times higher and costs 31% lower.
What is the difference between AI Max and PMax?
The PMax is a type of autonomous, fully automated campaign that leverages all of Google’s properties, including the search network.
AI Max, on the other hand, is an optional feature within search campaigns that, if activated, allows the advertiser to leverage the benefits of artificial intelligence, keeping the campaign limited to the Search network only and automatically generating highly relevant ads based on the context and intent of user queries.
Artificial intelligence alone is not enough
Despite the potential of artificial intelligence, tools like AI Max are not “magic wands”. Automating does not mean forgetting: it is essential to properly set up the campaign, monitor its performance, and know how to interpret the data to understand if the automation is truly working in the right direction.
Relying on a professional remains essential to define objectives, optimize conversions, and make the most of the opportunities offered by Google Ads!
