One of the major problems for YouTube content creators is finding themselves, in the medium-to-long term, short of original ideas. You might start with enthusiasm, but over time it can be a struggle to keep finding new topics.
Fortunately, there are several solutions to avoid this situation… and YouTube knows it well!
For this very reason, it has recently introduced a new section designed for creators: the “Inspiration” tab.
YouTube “Inspiration” tab: what it is and how it works
In YouTube Studio, under the Content menu, you can find the Inspiration section.
By entering a prompt (up to 500 characters) in the Find an idea box, the platform will use AI to provide great insights for the creator.
In our example, we simply wrote “SEO”. YouTube suggests three topics to explore further. If needed, it is also possible to save one or more ideas, which will be grouped under Saved ideas—a very useful feature for an editorial plan.
Let’s select the idea “SEO for YouTube Shorts in 2025”.
The next page is a real goldmine of ideas!
First of all, if you are not satisfied with the suggestions, you can refine the results by entering new prompts in the Develop this idea field.
The Inspiration tab consists of several sections:
- Hooks
- Structure
- Thumbnails
- Titles
- Related videos
Let’s analyze them all!
Hooks: the system suggests a series of opening lines designed to immediately capture users’ attention and help the creator start off on the right foot.
Structure: the system suggests how to organize your video, breaking it down into thematic sections to make it clearer, more engaging, and easier to follow.
Thumbnails: the system offers ready-to-use images for the video cover, optimized to attract clicks and available for free download.
Titles: the system shows various potentially effective title alternatives, designed to intrigue users and increase the view rate.
Related videos: the system suggests existing videos that cover the same topic to offer inspiration, comparisons, or additional ideas.
With this new tab, YouTube demonstrates its commitment to supporting creators by offering useful tools to stimulate creativity and maintain high content quality over time.
