In recent months, we have already spoken several times about the possible premium subscriptions coming to Meta platforms, analyzing rumors, tests, and features that emerged during development.
Now that the company has officially launched Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus and WhatsApp Plus, it’s time to take stock of the situation and offer a complete overview of the news, costs, and services included in the new paid plans that will gradually become part of the Meta One ecosystem.

How much do Meta Plus subscriptions cost?

The new plans will be available at different prices depending on the platform.

  • Instagram Plus: $3.99 per month
  • Facebook Plus: $3.99 per month
  • WhatsApp Plus: $2.99 per month

Meta has specified that these services will remain separate from Meta Verified, the subscription dedicated to account verification and protection against impersonation.

Instagram Plus improves the creator experience

Instagram Plus aims to offer advanced tools for content and audience management.

Among the main planned features, we find:

  • ability to extend the duration of Stories beyond the traditional 24 hours
  • weekly highlighted stories
  • advanced view statistics
  • search for users who have viewed a Story
  • unlimited audience lists beyond Close Friends
  • anonymous viewing of others’ Stories
  • information on followers who are not followed back

Facebook Plus focuses on stories and engagement

Facebook Plus inherits many of the features planned for Instagram.
The goal is to offer greater control over interactions and more advanced tools for creators and particularly active users.

Users will be able to:

  • keep Stories active for up to 48 hours
  • access more detailed statistics
  • view Story rewatches
  • use animated reactions
  • search among content viewers

WhatsApp Plus introduces more customization

The WhatsApp Plus subscription instead focuses on the messaging experience.

Among the announced features:

  • custom interface themes
  • dedicated ringtones
  • premium stickers
  • advanced editing tools
  • ability to pin a larger number of conversations

In the future, additional features dedicated to productivity and community management could also arrive.

Subscriptions for Meta AI are also arriving

The news doesn’t just concern social networks. Meta has in fact announced the start of tests also dedicated to its own artificial intelligence platform.

In the markets of Singapore, Guatemala, and Bolivia, the following will be tested:

  • Meta One Plus at $7.99 per month
  • Meta One Premium at $19.99 per month

Users who join the premium plans will have access to higher limits for image and video generation, as well as advanced reasoning capabilities for the Meta AI chatbot.

The free version will continue to be available, but with greater restrictions compared to the subscriptions.

Why Meta is focusing on subscriptions

Meta’s choice reflects an increasingly widespread trend in the technology sector. Large platforms are looking for new sources of revenue beyond advertising, especially to support the enormous investments needed in the development of artificial intelligence.

With Meta One, the company led by Mark Zuckerberg aims to build an ecosystem of premium services capable of offering concrete benefits to the most active users, creators, and companies, while at the same time keeping the main features of its platforms free.
