YouTube Shorts are vertical videos designed to emulate Instagram and TikTok.
This type of content is now an integral part of brand and creator editorial plans, becoming almost indispensable… and YouTube knows it!
Following the change in view counts, here are 4 more updates coming to Shorts!
1) Greater editing support
When editing a Short directly in the app, a grid showing all icons for comments, likes, and other interface elements will finally be visible. Additionally, safety zones will be indicated: areas where YouTube advises against placing text or visual elements, as they might be covered.

2) Editing and more editing!
The previous point is just a preview of the upcoming updates!
To keep up with Instagram and TikTok, YouTube will improve the Short editing phase, making life easier for creators.
It will be possible to trim and reorder clips, zoom in, or automatically sync video and music.
Furthermore, AI will be used to offer the possibility of creating backgrounds or clips starting from a simple prompt!
3) Quizzes are here!
The quiz sticker has arrived on YouTube too! Currently, it is only possible to insert two response options, but it’s possible this number will be expanded in the future.
The goal of this tool is to stimulate interaction and increase subscriber engagement, as well as to pique the interest of those who don’t follow the channel yet.
4) The “secret” stickers
In addition to quizzes, remember that other stickers are also available, specifically: “Q&A (Question and Answer)”, “Add Yours” and “Poll”. These elements are still underutilized but have great potential!
“Q&A” allows users to leave their own response to one of your questions.
“Add Yours”, on the other hand, invites users to create their own Short based on your prompt, thus stimulating participation and content creation from them as well.
Finally, “Poll” allows you to propose a question with two response options, facilitating direct audience engagement.
