The new Community section is finally live on all YouTube channels!
But first of all, what is the Community section?
Until now, there was only the “Posts” tab, where only the creator could publish content to interact with their audience. Now, however, YouTube has introduced a new feature that makes the section even more interactive: users can also publish posts in the channel’s Community.
An important change that transforms the Community into a shared space, where not only the creator but also subscribers can contribute with polls, messages, questions, or multimedia content, obviously within the limits set by the creator in the channel settings. An evolution designed to stimulate dialogue and strengthen the sense of belonging to the channel’s community!
Currently, this new feature is only visible on mobile, but it is likely to be made available on desktop in future updates.
How to activate Community mode
To unlock this new feature, simply log in to YouTube Studio and go to the Community section. You can activate the option under the “Viewer posts” tab.

Furthermore, in the Channel Settings, YouTube offers creators various tools to better manage the Community area.
You can disable this feature at any time.
You can also choose whether to manually approve all user posts or rely on YouTube’s automated system, which may block some content deemed inappropriate.
Another option concerns who can actually post: currently it is only allowed for users subscribed to the channel, but it is possible that further options will be introduced in the future, such as access for non-subscribers or members.
Finally, it is possible to set a minimum subscription time before a user can post: 1 day or 1 week. This last option is recommended to prevent potential spamming.

The introduction of this update opens up interesting scenarios for strengthening audience engagement and building a more solid relationship with subscribers.
Managed strategically, it can become a valuable tool for increasing loyalty and improving the overall performance of the channel.
